"larp"

Originally short for "live-action roleplay" (acting out a fictional character in person). Online, it's now used more broadly to accuse someone of faking an identity, lifestyle, or opinion for attention rather than genuinely living it.

Example

"He's larping as a stock expert, but he's never actually traded."
